o Children’s Day ( 14 November ) is celebrated every year in India and marks the birthday of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, the first Prime Minister of India who was very fond of children .

o This day honours children and their rights, reflecting on the importance of education, health, and well-being.

o Department of Paediatrics from MGM Medical College and Hospital, Nerul celebrated Children’s Day at MCH Belapur ( NMMC Hospital Belapur) on Friday 15 th November 2024 from 12 pm to 2 pm .

o The program started with Dean Mam Dr. Sandhya Khadse and HOD Mam Dr. Sunita Jain wishing and welcoming all children admitted in Paediatrics ward .

o Around 10 to 15 children took part in this event which included the siblings of the admitted patients too .

o The event was anchored by Dr. Vedashree Deshpande (Assistant Professor) who told the children the importance of this day .

o Dance and Games such as musical chair were played led by Dr.Sarah(Tutor) .

o There was poetry recitation , story telling and singing by the children who showed their keen interest in demonstrating their skills . It was a moment of joy for all .

o The children were motivated throughout the session by Dr. Kamran Dalwai ( Senior Resident ) , Dr. Sourav Das ( Tutor) and Dr. Vedashree Deshpande ( Assistant Professor).

o All children including the winners of the games received prizes . The ward was nicely decorated with balloons which brought of joy in the children .

o At the end of the program the joy seen on the faces of the children and their happy parents was incredible .
