• It is our duty to ensure that every newborn gets the right care and love .

• As part of this newborn week , Department of Paediatrics from MGM Medical College & Hospital Nerul took the initiative for education of mothers and young doctors about postnatal care and importance for breastfeeding on Tuesday 26 th November 2024 at MCH Belapur ( NMMC Hospital Belapur ) from 1.30 pm to 2:30 pm in the PNC Ward .

• It was attended by Dr. Sunita Jain (HOD) , Dr. Vedashree Deshpande (Asst Prof) , Dr. Kamran Dalwai (Senior Resident) , Dr. Sourav Das (Tutor) , Dr. Sarah Iqra ( Tutor).

• The mothers in the PNC ward were enlightened on the techniques , etiquettes and importance of breastfeeding by Dr. Sourav Das (Tutor) .

• A brief speech on newborn care , newborn discharge criteria , common parental concerns was given by Dr. Sarah Iqra (Tutor) .

• The highlights of the program were summarised by Dr. Vedashree Deshpande ( Asst. Prof). Newborn follow up , vaccinations was also discussed .

• The end of the session saw a positive outlook in the mothers who were initially anxious about the newborn concerns and care .
